How to Create a Good Accounting Resume Objective

How to Create a Good Accounting Resume ObjectiveAccounting resume objectives are essential to having the career you want. So many people do not know how to make an effective objective. Sure, a strong resume objective is important, but in addition to this, it's equally important to have some qualifications and experience attached to your resume objective. In order to have your objectives in writing, there are several aspects that you must address. In writing an objective, you first need to make sure that you give your objectives the attention they deserve. The most common mistakes when writing an objective are attaching too much detail on an area that is not essential to the job. For example, if you are writing an objective about a marketing function for example, don't make the objective a sales pitch. Make it a description of the customer service or support functions of the company. Attach only as much information on the job as you need. When you are writing your resume objective, try to include references to anything that will make the job interesting. Attach a picture or a quote that will create an impression about what it is like to work at that company. It doesn't have to be just about work. Describe the culture of the company, the energy of the employees, the amenities and facilities, and the overall working environment. You can write in this style in the creative writing style. The last thing you want to do is to get hung up on the idea of writing an objective because of the problem of trying to get in touch with what the job actually is. Try to think of it in terms of an outline that outlines the functions of the company, or ask someone who has experience working there, and come up with an objective that has enough to describe the position. Also, check with the human resources department and see if there are any additional requirements associated with the position. In other words, are there hiring requirements that will prevent the person from filling the po sition? Do they have other requirements that would disqualify a candidate, such as a criminal record? These are questions that can guide you in writing your objective. If there are hiring requirements that are very strict, then you should include them on your resume objective and include these requirements on the cover letter as well.A good objective should contain the following characteristics: what the job requires, the duties, the compensation, the location, the benefits, the job description, the applicant pool, the work load, the office, the support staff, and the work environment. If you can only list a few of these features, then you should focus on building on the points that are above these aspects. This will help you have a higher chance of landing the job.

The Surprising Secret to Success for Jay-Z

The Surprising Secret to Success for Jay-Z Jay-Z wasn’t kidding when he said he’s a “business, man.” With a net worth of $810 million, the rapper-turned-mogul has expanded into sports, artist management, and streaming, among other ventures. But a secret of his hustle is one you might not expect: therapy. The musician recently opened up in a candid interview with The New York Times, revealing that in addition to a new album that feels like a therapy session, he has been in traditional therapy. And it helped him mature as a thinker and a leader. “I grew so much from the experience. But I think the most important thing I got is that everything is connected,” Jay-Z said in the interview. “Every emotion is connected and it comes from somewhere. And just being aware of it. Being aware of it in everyday life puts you at such a… You’re at such an advantage.” He added that widening his perspective helped him understand where others are coming from, even when they’re being racist, for instance. “Instead of reacting to that with anger, I can provide a softer landing and maybe, ‘Aw, man, is you O.K.?’” he said. What Jay-Z describes is empathy. There’s all kinds of evidence that a healthy sense of empathy, helped along with therapy, nurtures success in the workplace. Stress can be debilitating in a career. Research suggests that stress and mental health are responsible for more than half of all working days lost every year. A 1990 study of empathy training on medical students found that those who learned to have more compassion actually had lower stress levels when interacting with others in difficult situations. The science is somewhat counterintuitive. People often think of empathy as feeling others’ pain. In fact, recent research suggests that emotional empathyâ€"in other words, getting consumed by another person’s feelingsâ€"can take a psychological toll. But those who express compassionate empathy, which allows for more distance, have positive responses, where they approac others’ issues helpfully as problems to be solved. That’s essentially what Jay-Z is talking about when he says he “can provide a softer landing” for people unlike him after being in therapy. Empathy is also key to being a successful leader, according to research. Compassionate leaders are more likely to engage their reports, while unfair bosses are more likely to see their employees head for the exits. That’s what many prominent business leaders preach. Bill and Melinda Gates urged Stanford grads to practice empathy in order to solve the biggest crises facing the world today. Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella’s new book argues for “the power of taking everyday action driven by empathy.” Jeff Bezos argues that, even with all the intelligence possible at your disposal, you still need to connect to others in order to succeed. When explaining what made her talk show so massively popular, Oprah Winfrey explained, “I had to learn to feel with others, which is what it means to be compassionate… I feel with you. It means not only am I able to walk in your shoes, my heart beats with yours. I see myself in you.” She views her years as host of the show as “my greatest therapy.” It’s no surprise, then, that therapy and its offshoots have become more valuable in typically cutthroat corporate spheres. In a report, the World Economic Forum predicts that emotional intelligence will be one of the top 10 job skills by 2020. Empathy training has emerged as the hottest new trend in leadership, with companies offering classes in hopes of getting better results. They may be onto something. Titans in business and creative fields, from Jon Hamm and Gwyneth Paltrow to J.K. Rowling, have talked about how therapy helped them get through emotional struggles and come out stronger. (Rowling said she even had to go to therapy to deal with her overwhelming success.) Jay-Z is the latest on the list. And as he approaches a billion dollars, he’s looking better than ever.

All About Employee Coaching

All About Employee Coaching Coaching out in the business world looks a lot different to coaching out on the field. While shouting and whistles might work for some people, employee coaching is about encouraging and nurturing talent, offering constructive criticism for improvement in agreed upon areas and providing positive feedback to employees to keep them and, therefore, the team moving forward. Its about teaching and reinforcing productive and ultimately successful behaviors to curate a mora effective force of contributors. What Is Employee Coaching? In order to improve employee performance, employers should be both counseling and coaching employees on what works well and what doesnt. This doesnt need to wait for the annual review but, rather, employee coaching should be happening during day-to-day interaction between a manager and an employee who reports to that manager. That said, a number ofprofessional coaches would arguethat managers should bedrngnis attempt to coach their empl oyees, as theyve too vested an interest in the outcome of their coaching that they couldnt be neutral, effective coaches. Others would argue that managers already spend their time teaching, telling or advising (some may even be micromanaging), and therefore are already coaching their employees regularly. Its important to understand what employee coaching really means to better understand whether or notlage you or the managers on your team could serve as employee coaches. The fact is that coaching is actually a two-way street it requires advising and listening, with which some managers may struggle. An employee coach should be able to have both directive and non-directive skills. Some directive skills includeTeachingAdvisingProviding FeedbackOffering SuggestionsNon-directive coaching, however,is mora about listening to the employee and asking them questions. This is because, when an employee solves a problem on his or her own (usually with the help of challenging questions from the c oach), theyre typically more committed to the issue at hand and, therefore, are more likely to achieve success in actually doing something about it. This is also key because, when employees arent afforded the opportunitiesto solve their own problems, theybecome inevitably dependent upon management and never get better at problem solving, which can hurt both team productivity and their careers. In shortWhile feedback and direction are indubitably helpful tools, a coach is not onlydirecting or acting in an authoritarian manner. They should also be able to collaborate with the employee to stimulate an employees own ideas by helping them to reduce the noise cluttering their brains and solve problems on their own. They should be working together toidentify, targetand plan for performance improvement. While it may seem like coaching sounds a lot like mentoring,a mentoring relationship usually involves a senior employeepassing on their know-how and experience to assist a lower-levelcolleague . Coaching is done intentionally with a professional at coaching itself, not necessarily the industry.Coaching in the workplace can be a difficult skill for managers to master as most managers are used to directing work rather than achieving it through employee development, according to Coach 4 Growth. In this situation the coach is acting as facilitator to help the employee achieve self-realization aroundopportunities for improvement by asking probing, and often tough, questionsand challenging the employee to think about their goals as well as how to achieve them. This also means that the coach does not need to be an expert on the development area. Sure, it helps but since coaching is more focused on the employee owning their own development the coach can help by providing resources in place of direct expertise.Sometimes when acoach should be brought in are when an employee laughs off the managersfeedback, isnt interested in being coached, is a star employee who needs high-levelcoac hing, according to the Harvard Business Review. Remember that the objective of coaching an employeeis tohelp that employee make distinct improvements that are measurable. Some managers are capable of doing that, while others are not and, sometimes, it all just comes down to how busy they are.Coaching may takemore time and patience than managing. How Should YouStructure Work Coaching? The truth is that coaching takes practice, and the more employees with whom you work, the better at coaching youll certainly become. But in order to get started, you should have some idea of how to structure work coaching, as a framework can help streamline the process. Many coaches use what is called the GROW Model. There are several versions of the GROW acronym, but here is a popular oneG forGoal This refers to the goal or purpose of the conversation what does the employee wish to gain from the conversation with their coach?R forReality This refers to the issue at hand what is the problem that needs to be solved?O forOptionsThis refers to the possible solutions what are the various thingsthe employee can do to tackle the issue at hand?W for Whats Next This refers to the next steps of all the options for solutions, what will the employee choose to do to tackle the issue at hand and by when?Remember that, regardless of your coaching structure, you should always possess some key characteristics of a coach who understands their role.
